Our estate was founded in 1961 and over the past fifty years has become a noted leader in Tuscan wine, esteemed throughout the world. Poliziano is the name chosen by Dino Carletti, the winery's founder and father of owner Federico Carletti, to pay homage to the humanist Angelo Ambrogini as well as his roots in Tuscany. It is a name that reflects an important vocation: respect for the territory, a love of its history, and the tradition that marries innovation.
On the slopes of the hills leading to Montepulciano, among the vineyards cultivated with painstaking care, lies our winery, a paradigm of efficiency and respect for quality. In a setting authentic and charming, the Carletti family welcomes you offering a tasting of their wines accompanied by local gastronomic delights that daily write the story of Poliziano excellence.
It is our crowning achievement, the heart of the winery, a place for memories, pleasure and sharing. A room dedicated to one of the greatest poets of the fifteenth century, it is ready to welcome and immerse you in a unique atmosphere, one that will permeate every gesture and experience here.
A tour of excellence is what we offer at Poliziano. Surrounded by a panorama unlike any other in the world, you can walk among the vines of our vineyard, drink in the heady scent of new wine, and revel in the air of suspense in the cellars where bottles and barrels await their most important moment. Poliziano is about more than just wine tasting, it's about experiencing life and appreciating its quality.
Our wines embody the essence of who we are. They echo centuries of history, the selection of superior grapes, the ability of our master winemakers. You will discover emotions authentic and pleasing as you savor our best wines. And with every sip, you will experience what we have learned in over fifty years of wine making.
Our wines evoke the historic tradition of the land, but at the same time speak eloquently to the modern world. Theirs is a developing narrative: born in the early 1980's, they retain their original labels, but have matured and evolved over time, always with the objective of uncompromising quality. The heart of our wines comes primarily from Sangiovese grapes, known locally by its historic name, "Prugnolo Gentile."
